During Monday night’s awards ceremony in Paris, when Manchester City’s Rodri was named the world’s best player, George Weah, a previous Ballon d’Or winner while playing for Milan, acknowledged that he “loves” Juventus and “supports” Tottenham.

Although he acknowledged that he had varied team preferences, the Liberian former player had stints in both Serie A and the Premier League, wearing the jerseys of Milan, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

Between 1995 and 2000, Weah played four and a half seasons at the San Siro. In 1995, the year he left Paris Saint-Germain to join the Rossoneri, he was awarded the Ballon d’Or winner.

As a presenter at the 2024 Ballon d’Or awards event on Monday, Weah disclosed that, thanks to Michel Platini, Juventus was the team he “watched” as a child.

According to TMW, he stated, “I watched Juventus play when I was a kid because of Platini.”

 

“I never played for Juventus, but I adore them.” I’m happy my son is performing for them today.

Timothy, the son of George Weah, recently scored in the Derby d’Italia match against Inter, which concluded in an exciting 4–4 draw. Timothy joined the Bianconeri from Lille last summer.

The former player continued by naming Harry Kane of Bayern Munich as his favourite striker, citing the fact that he was a Tottenham player.

According to ESPN UK, Weah went on, “There is a player I love.”
